How to become your own DJ using DJ software

With the new DJ software that is readily available, producing and managing your own audio mixing has never been easier. With DJ software, it is possible for you to produce standard and quality work all by yourself. There are many types of different software available for each type of computer system; it is just a case of finding some compatible software. You can easily search for suitable online audio mixers, or if you prefer, you can make a new mix entirely on your own.

To begin with, you will need to buy yourself some DJ software or if you prefer, you can use many of the free ones that can be found online. Having said this, it is important that you find one that is easy to use, even though most are relatively easy to master within a short period of time, and a lot of them come with their own tutorials. Depending on the software you have chosen, you will then be able to take advantage of many different audio mixing features that are now available, such as combining different sections from different tracks of music. Some pieces of advanced software that have all the latest features are even compatible with many different formats.

Too much music for today’s DJ

If you had asked me 2 – 3 years ago whether or not it was possible to have too much music, I would have told you no way. I always used to feel that it was always better to have more than not enough, simply because you never know what the person would want to hear at that time. I listen to almost everything and am quite unbiased with my music, in fact, my collection of music contains a high amount of very strange and obscure music. All my life, I have used computers in order to gain music, from the days of having dial up and Napster, I have never deleted anything as long as the songs sounded good.

However, we are in a much different age now and DJ music collections have turned into something completely different. I like to use a combination of a mash up style music with digital DJing with software such as Serato and Traktor. These days, there is no more burning CDs and moving them around. Computers have made making remixes even easier, and now the collections of DJs have grown from 1000 songs to tens of thousands of songs in just a few years.
